A Chinese copper Hand Warmer, the body of lobed oval form with six panels of decoration depicting buildings within a wooded landscape, raised on a short foot with prick-dot scrolling decoration and recessed base, the removable cover with pierced border of scroll decoration and four flowers, central cartouche with corresponding building and landscape, twin slender stylised bamboo handles, unsigned, in the manner of Pan Xiang-Feng (active 1736-1795), 19cm long, 13cm high, one handle with rudimentary wire repaired hinge.
Provenance; Col. R.L Vance RAMC (Indian Medical Service) serving in India and Tibet in the early 20thC, up until the 1930's, by family tradition having received items as personal gifts from grateful patients.
